With so many classic maps over the years I'm curious what the community here loves. For me it has to be de_inferno — the tight corridors, the banana battle, the apartment control... it's just perfect tactically.
Has to be de_dust2 for me. I know it's the obvious answer but there's a reason it's been the most played map for 20+ years. Every position has a counter, every round tells a different story. It's as close to a perfect FPS map as exists. 💯
Controversial pick: de_train. Most people find it frustrating but when you understand the cover and sight lines it's incredibly rewarding. CT side especially is a chess match. 🤔
de_aztec gets no love but it's a hidden gem for 5v5. The bridge control and underwater path create such unique rounds. I miss when it was in the competitive pool. ❤️
de_nuke is the most skill-testing map. Upper vs lower site coordination requires actual teamwork. It filters out who can actually play 😄 My runner-up after dust2. 🏆
