CS2 or CS 1.6 — which do you prefer and why?

CS2 vs CS 1.6 — hot take incoming 🔥

I've played both seriously and honestly? CS 1.6 still hits different. The community is smaller but way more dedicated, the servers feel snappier, and the skill ceiling feels more honest somehow. CS2 looks great but the sub-tick system still drives me crazy.

What do you all think? No wrong answers here, genuinely curious 🤔

Hard agree on CS 1.6 feeling snappier. The 64-tick servers in CS2 are better than old CSGO but it still doesn't feel the same. That said, CS2 graphics and smoke rework are genuinely impressive 👀 I play both depending on my mood.

This. CS 1.6 rewards mechanical skill above everything. No fancy gizmos, no fancy agents, just you and your aim 💯 But I won't lie, I enjoy CS2 for the visuals and updated maps.

The netcode in CS 1.6 on a good server is still unmatched for pure feel. CS2 will get there eventually I think, Valve is at least trying now. For now I play 1.6 for competitive and CS2 for casual 😄

Both have their place. CS 1.6 for the nostalgia and pure gameplay, CS2 for everything else. 👍 Great thread!
