Is anyone else noticing how Valorant has basically replaced CS for a lot of younger players? I checked some streaming numbers and Valorant is consistently pulling more viewers on Twitch. Not complaining, just interesting from a competitive gaming perspective ๐ค
Are we seeing the end of CS dominance in the FPS scene?
I don't think so. CS has been "dying" since 2005 ๐ The core community is super loyal. Valorant appeals to a different demographic โ players who want hero abilities. CS purists won't switch. Both can coexist fine.
Valorant is a great game but it's not the same genre imo. It's more like Overwatch with guns. CS is pure tactical FPS. The Venn diagram has overlap but they're different games attracting somewhat different crowds ๐

Agreed. Different games, different audiences. CS 1.6 is still running after 25+ years โ I don't think Valorant is going to kill it ๐ If anything, some Valorant players eventually come over to CS out of curiosity.
